Senior cats need homes too!

I feel so awful for some of the senior cats that stay at the kitty lounge. Currently we have three seniors that have been waiting seven months now to be adopted! Donors have sponsored them and paid their adoption fees, yet they are still waiting for their forever homes!

Early this morning I was racking my brain thinking of what I could do to promote the adoption of these seniors. The only thing I came up with so far is this flyer that I designed. If anyone out there reading this has any ideas on how to promote senior adoptions, please let me know!

10 reasons senior cats rule

I am a volunteer for a couple animal rescues and I foster kittens in the Pittsburgh area. I also assist on an "as needed" basis with TNR to help the feral cats in the area. I am also a CPP (chronic pain patient) suffering with back pain, disk degenerative disease, sciatica, osteoarthritis, and an autoimmune disease - taking care of foster kittens is my THERAPY!

  1. UPDATE: 12 year old Milo was adopted along with Kitty Queen resident “Prince Charming” on Sunday afternoon, just a couple hours after I designed and posted this flyer! Yay for Milo, I couldn’t be happier!

Milo is a very handsome and LUCKY boy! Milo was pulled from “death row” at another rescue because they said he was shy! He wasn’t even given that much time to adjust to the rescue before they decided to euthanize him! This makes me both very angry AND sad!

I cannot tell you how proud I am to say that I am a volunteer and foster mom for Kitty Queen Cat Rescue and Lounge! They are a very small and new rescue with very limited funds, less than a handful of fosters and at most a dozen volunteers, yet here they are stepping in and saving death row kitties from a very large organization in Pittsburgh! Not only did Kitty Queen save Milo from euthanasia, we also took in three other cats from this big facility. They also were on “death row” for being shy. One little girl is only two years old! How awful!!
